Purpose
The Maconite Scholarship Organization of St. Louis (“Organization”) is an approved qualified, federal tax-exempt 501(c)(3) Missouri nonprofit organization that awards scholarships to college-bound high school seniors and college students based on demonstrated academic achievement, community/volunteer service record, scholastic contribution through involvement in extracurricular activities, and other indications that the student will become a positive citizen and contributor to society.
Criteria
The students eligible must be graduating or a graduate from a high school in St. Louis metropolitan area and intend to continue their education at an accredited college, university or trade school. The student must be between the ages of 17-24 and enrolling, or enrolled, as an undergraduate student. The student must have maintained a 2.5 to 3.0 grade point average or better (on a 4.0 scale) during the final two years in school. The students should submit a completed scholarship application on the form provided by the Organization. The scholarship is not renewable. Previous scholarship recipients cannot re-apply.
Guidelines
Scholarships will be awarded on an annual basis and the amount will be determined by the Organization. The scholarship will be awarded to the student in September of the current year.
Deadline
The deadline is the date after which applications will no longer be accepted.
Paper applications will not be accepted.
2025 Application Timeline
1. Application available December 1, 2024.
2. Application Deadline: May 31, 2025 (No Exceptions!)
3. Applications reviewed for completeness, compliance with instructions, and eligibility.
4. Applications read, evaluated, ranked in June 2025.
5. All recipients notified in August 2025.
6. Scholarships awarded in September 2025.
